Hi, I’m Sue — founder of SERENE.

My journey to creating SERENE began with something deeply personal and, honestly, painful.

Nine years ago, during my overseas trip, I experienced an unexpected yeast infection. The itch and discomfort throughout the trip were unbearable. When I got back to Hong Kong, I finally went to see a doctor, only to find out that the discharge had become clumpy, like cottage cheese. I was still in university, completely shocked, confused, and too embarrassed to talk to anyone about it — not even my family.

That first doctor’s visit was rough — I still remember the cold, clinical sensation of the speculum, and how helpless I felt. I took the medication as prescribed, thinking I was healed. But then it came back. Again and again. Each time, more medication. More discomfort. More shame.

I tried everything: antifungal suppositories, strange internet remedies, even homemade treatments. They worked temporarily… but the infections always came back.
